Measuring Guide
Measure once, measure right
Your blind is manufactured to the exact millimetres you enter — so five careful minutes here guarantee a perfect fit. You need a metal tape measure and, ideally, a second pair of hands.
Before you start
- Always measure in millimetres (mm).
- What you enter is the finished size of the blind. We cut to it exactly and deduct nothing, so any clearance you need has to be in the figure you give us.
- Measure each window separately, even if they look identical — differences of 5–10 mm are common.
- Measure width at three points (top, middle, bottom) and height at two points. If they differ, note the smallest value.
Option 1: Mounting on the window sash
The most common installation — the blind is fixed directly to the frame of the opening window part.
- Measure the visible glass width and add the coverage you want on each side (we recommend the full sash width between the outer edges of the glazing beads).
- Measure the glass height between the glazing beads, top to bottom.
- Enter those two figures in the configurator — they become the finished width and height of your blind.
Option 2: Mounting in the recess
- Measure the recess width at three points and take the smallest value.
- Subtract the running clearance yourself — we suggest 5 mm on each side, so 10 mm in total. Without it the blind will scrape the reveal or jam.
- Measure the recess height at two points, take the smallest value, and subtract 10 mm so the blind does not sit on the sill.
- Enter the reduced figures. We manufacture to exactly what you enter.
Option 3: Mounting on the wall
- Measure the width of the area you want covered — we recommend the recess width plus 50–100 mm on each side.
- Measure from the intended top fixing point down to where the blind should end.
